  Crossing the Red Sea Bible Story from the book of Exodus. Moses is chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and into the land of Canaan, which God has promised to them. A miracle is performed at the Red Sea to allow the Israelites to escape from the pursuing Egyptian Army. God fought their battle. After parting the sea, allowing every Israelite to cross on dry land & every chariot to enter the path between the waters, God closed the sea & every charioteer drowned.
